Martyrdom of St John de Britto at Oriyur
On 4 February 1693 the founder of the Vadakkankulam mission was beheaded for the faith at Oriyur in the Marava country, aged forty-five. Canonised in 1947, Arulanandar is honoured here as the parish's founding saint, his blood the seed from which the community grew.
